Appliance Switch

The certification categories for appliance switches are as follows: Marine switches, microswitches, pushbutton switches, overload switches, and power switches. The applicable standards are as follows: We can provide VDE certification, ENEC certification, TUV certification, CE certification, and CB certification for appliance switches, CCC, and CQC certifications. Commonly used standards: 1) Power cords—certification may only be applied for

  The applicable standards are as follows

We can provide VDE certification, ENEC certification, TUV certification, CE certification, CB certification, and CCC certification for appliance switches, CQC certification

   Common Standards

1) Power cords: Only Listing/Listed certification may be applied for; test standard UL62; test method UL1581

2) AWM wires and electronic wires: Only “Recognized”/“Recognition” certification may be applied for; test standard UL758; test method UL1581

3) Plastic raw materials may only be applied for under the “Recognized/Recognition” category; Test Standard UL746 (including Volumes A, B, C, D, and E; the most commonly used is UL746C, which covers UL flame-retardant rating testing).

4) Switches: Testing standard for special switches UL1054; testing standard for general switches UL20.

5) Plugs: Only Listing/Listed applications are permitted; the test standard is UL817, with the U.S.-style plug dimensions covered by UL1681. If the plug has communication capabilities, such as a telephone plug, additional testing according to standard UL497 (Communication Equipment) is required.

6) Sockets (female connectors), test standard UL498

7) Overall physical structure of the outlet, test standard UL1363; if the outlet is relatively complex—such as containing a circuit board—additional testing must be conducted according to standard UL1449 (lightning protection testing)

8) Connector, test standard UL1977

9) Telephone plug and jack, test standard UL1863

  10) Connector test standard UL1977

   For industrial low-voltage switchgear and control gear CE, the certification standards are:

1. EN 50041, Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear for industrial use; control switches; 42.5×80 limit switches; dimensions and characteristics;

2. EN 50042, Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear for industrial use; terminal markings; connection of external auxiliary electronic circuit components and contacts;

  3. EN 50043, Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear for industrial use, faceplate mounting dimensions and gauges;

4. EN 50047, Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear for industrial use, control switches, 30×55 travel switches, dimensions and characteristics.

  For more common switch CE certifications, such as switchgear for household and similar uses, the EU has established EN 60669, which includes:

  1. Switches for household and similar electrical appliances—general requirements;

2. Switches for household and similar electrical appliances—electronic switches;

3. Switches for fixed electrical installations for household and similar purposes—electromagnetic remote-control switches;

4. Switches for fixed electrical installations for household and similar purposes; time-delay switches.
