If the body's own system does not return it, there are usually three reasons: the number was copied wrong, the certificate has expired or been withdrawn, or it is not the kind of certificate that system covers.
Check the number firstLetters and digits in certificate numbers are easy to misread — watch the difference between 0 and O, 1 and I, and any separators.
Then check the statusThese systems normally show valid, suspended or withdrawn. If the status is anything else, do not use the certificate as if it were valid.
