National Technical Committee on Automotive Standardization Issues National Standards

ArnoolViews 281

The National Technical Committee on Automotive Standardization has officially released the following standards: GB/T 20234.1-2023 “Connecting Devices for Conductive Charging of Electric Vehicles—Part 1: General Requirements” and GB/T 20234.3-2023 “Connectors for Conductive Charging of Electric Vehicles—Part 3: DC Charging Interfaces,” have been officially released.

While retaining China’s current DC charging interface technical solutions and ensuring interoperability between new and existing charging interfaces, the new standards increase the maximum charging current from 250 amps to 800 amps and the charging power to 800 kilowatts. They also introduce technical requirements related to active cooling and temperature monitoring, and optimize and refine test methods for mechanical performance, locking mechanisms, service life, which will help further enhance the environmental adaptability, safety, and reliability of conductive charging connectors while meeting practical needs such as both low- and high-power DC charging.
