Suzhou Arnool testing and certification
On January 8, 2025, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) officially released the Energy Star Computers V9.0 specifications and announced that they would take effect immediately. The full effective date for the Energy Star Computers V9.0 standard is October 27, 2025.

Regarding Effective and Enforcement Dates
January 8, 2025 , manufacturers may choose to have their certification bodies (CB) certify eligible products in accordance with the requirements of the Energy Star Computers V9.0 version, effective immediately.
After June 2, 2025, CBs will cease certifying new products under Version 8.0. Existing Version 8.0 certificates may still be used to register products until October 27, 2025.
On or after October 27, 2025, computers must meet the requirements of the Energy Star Computers Version 9.0 to qualify for the “Energy Star” label.

Regarding Changes
Change 1: Addition of the “Ruggedized Notebook” category.
Ruggedized Notebook: A computer that meets the definition of a notebook computer, complies with either MIL-STD 810H or IP66 (IEC 60529), and contains multiple expansion slots for expandability.
Change 2: The definition of “Full Network Proxy” has been removed because, in Energy Star Computers Version 9.0, it no longer affects the selection of mode weights for any product type.
Change 3: Table 4 has been revised to remove the previous reference to “General Mode Weights.”
Change 4: The TEC baseline allowable values for laptops, all-in-one PCs, and desktop computers have been simplified.
Change 5: The functional weighting values have been modified, including the addition of weighting values for MUX devices and ruggedized laptops.
Change 6: The weighting coefficients for high-performance integrated displays have been updated, and weighting coefficients for touchscreens have been added.
Change 7: Two referenced test standards have been updated
1. Generalized Internal Power Supply Efficiency Test Protocol, Rev. 6.6, has been updated to Generalized Internal Power Supply Efficiency Test Protocol, Rev. 6.7.2;
2. IEC 62623 Ed. 1.0, October 2012, has been updated to IEC 62623 Ed. 2.0, April 2022.
